Sadly, as you know, we said goodbye to Carole Charge and the District joined with 1st Rural to say a big “thank you” and farewell to her at Roughton Mill.

There were many presentations and messages of thanks and Carole was moved by all the messages of appreciation.

Thank you to 1st Rural for hosting and for providing some lovely refreshments.

Congratulations to Tom Hadley whose main role is now Assistant County Commissioner for 14 – 25 year old range

  • This means we need a new Young Leader Manager
  • Could this be you?   If you think you may like a role change, please either speak to Tony Clarke or me (PH)
  • This is an important role, but there is a lot of training material and programme which is just waiting to be used and just has to implemented.

 Capitation fees have been announced.  There is a charge for young people only, total £42.75, made up of £26.50 to HQ, £11.50 to the County and £4.75 to the District. There is a 50p per person refund if the amount is paid on time.

Do you remember when you last did:

  • Safeguarding training? It is a requirement that your training is “in date”.   It only lasts 5 years maximum.   If you can’t remember when you last did the training update…!..

  • First Aid – 1st Response – Sunday 12th February

The next is at Aylsham Lodge Hotel – note venue.   It includes a light buffet lunch.

  • Health & Safety Drive for Scout Groups – Monday 30th January or Monday 27th February, 7.30pm – 9.30pm

Can two people per Group attend one of the two training sessions: (maybe GSL & Chair or nominated H & S rep).   Please bring notebook and pen.

Generic paperwork has already been prepared for you to complete as needed, so most of the work has been done.   If you can now please do your bit to ensure everything is in order.

  • Top Awards is on Tuesday 4th April, 6pm.   Reserved just for us in North East Norfolk –  Russell’s Circus show at Beeston Regis, Sheringham.

Entry is FREE to Top Award recipients, but open to all other members too, their families and friends at a specially negotiated bargain price of just £5 per person.   Please put this in your Group Diaries.   Full info will come in the New Year.   Bookings will be co-ordinated through GSL’s or nominated Group contact.

  • St George’s Day is confirmed as Sunday 23rd April at Sheringham in the afternoon.   Details in the New Year.
  • Next Full District Meeting – Monday 6th February, 7.30pm, Aylsham Lodge Hotel.

As usual, please come in uniform because, hopefully there will be several more awards to be presented.
